Organizational citizenship behaviours: nature, culture context, and motivational basis

Tesis doctoral de Álvaro Cristian Espejo Jaimovich

Titulo: organizational citizenship behaviours: nature, culture context, and motivational basis resumen: this dissertation seeks to advance our knowledge on organizational citizenship behaviors. These are employees behaviors that benefit the organization, but that are not enforced or directly rewarded. In particular, we tackle three important issues that are still unresolved in current literature: the nature of ocb as a multidimensional construct, cultural elements in ocb, and employees motivation to perform citizenship behaviors. For this purpose, we performed three different studies that i present as independent essays in this dissertation. After presenting these three essays, we discuss some issues regarding the three papers combined. Next, we present a future research project, in which we want to overeome some íimitations of the present studies. Finally, we provide some implications for managers who want to encourage citizenship behaviors in their organizations
