The research paper is located within the field of applied linguistics more particularly in the field of intercultural pragmatics. This dissertation targets the study of the speech acts of thanks/apology, invitations and compliments in moroccan arabic and highlights the sociolinguistic and the sociocultural differences inherent to this language as representative of non-wertern cultures in comparaison with spanish and english as languages representative of western cultures. The results obtained from this study have allowed for a revision of the theory of speech acts and a reconsideration of the concept of universality claimed by the theorists of politeness. la tesis se centra en el campo de la linguistica aplicada y de la pragmatica intercultural y se basa en el estidio de los actos de habla de la invitación, el cumplido y el agradecimiento en árabe marroquí. En este estudio, se han resaltado las diferencias sociolinguisticas y socioculturales inherentes al árabe marroquí como lengua representativa de una cultura no occidental en contraste con el español o el inglés como lenguas representativas de la cultura occidental. Los resultados obtenidos nos han permitido reconsiderar la universalidad de las teorías de la cortesía y de los actos de habla.
