Tesis doctoral de Kandarpkumar Harsiddhbhai Mehta
This dissertation contributes to idea generation and creativity level by exploring the processes therein. On the basis of ethnography carried out at various shooting (motion picture) sites, observations have been made both at the individual level as well as team level. At individual level it was seen that individuals have different idea- generation tendencies when they work in teams. Individuals exhibit four different idea generation tendencies, (i) gradually increasing, (ii) gradually decreasing, (iii) constant and (iv) abrupt shifts, which is caused by the process of role evolution. Role evolution implies change in the perception of an individual¿s role over a period of time, while working within a team structure. The process of role evolution has been described in four different stages; (i) identification of role space, (ii) initial role enactment, (iii) role relineation and (iv) negotiated role enactment. At the team level it was observed that the structured role system of a team gets disrupted. Changes in individual and team level also lead us to a new concept of creativity in teams in terms of creative potential, namely (i) null creativity, (ii) nascent creativity and (iii) nurtured creativity.
