The repeated passage of vehicles induces microscopic cracks in road pavements. With time, they can be trasformed into macrofissures and weaken the structure while allowing water to infiltrate and put in danger the stability of the whole structure. The fatigue is defined as being the reduction or the loss of the pavement mechanical properties under repeated traffic loads and its bearing capacity progressive reduction. In roads construction practice, it is more and more important to extend the life cycle of materials used in the pavement by improving the current design techniques as well as the pavement laying methods and by implementing new methods. because of the complex determination of the pavement cracking evolution as well as the laboratory bituminous mixes fatigue behaviour, some probles and questions are still irresolute. The difficult resolution of these points makes that a universal testing method with a clear failure criterion which actually approaches what is occurring in the pavement was not established yet. Ther are today different types of testing methods associated with different failure criteria, which lead to different results that are sometimes contradictory. for that, in order to develop and to look further into the study of the bituminous mixes fatigue behaviour, the deterioration process of several bituminous mixes was analysed, by studying the stress and strain state, as well as the dynamic modulus evolution, and by using various types of tests and load application. in addition, it is a well-known phenomenon that with the viscous behaviour of the bituminous mixes, each load application produces a differed deformation increment. This deformation accumulates cycle after cycle until it reachs a limit value where the damage evolution is inevitable and where the rupture occurs. From this observation, the relation between the bituminous mixes fatigue behaviour and its behaviour during a static tensile test at a constant deformation speed was deepened.
